Kara graduated cum laude from the University of South Carolina Joseph F. Rice School of Law. During her time in law school, she participated in Moot Court and served on the editorial board of the ABA Real Property Trust and Estate Law Journal. She also worked as a law clerk with SWB during law school.

Kara moved to South Carolina from Florida. She attended Rollins College where she played collegiate softball. While not working, she enjoys spending time outdoors, watching baseball, and cheering on the Gamecocks and Pittsburgh sports teams.
