Ryan joined the firm following a judicial clerkship in Lexington, South Carolina with the Honorable R. Knox McMahon, Judge of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit.

Ryan is a magna cum laude graduate of the Honors College at the University of South Carolina where he was twice elected Vice President of the Student Body and was a columnist for the student newspaper. Ryan received his Juris Doctorate from the University of South Carolina School of Law where he was active in Student Government and the Moot Court Bar.

Ryan is a native of the Midlands of South Carolina and is married to Jill Jackson Holt of Sandy Run. Ryan and Jill are active members of the First Baptist Church of Columbia where Ryan serves as a deacon. Ryan has served on the University of South Carolina Alumni Association's Richland-Lexington Board and the College of Arts and Sciences Alumni Council. Ryan is also a member of the Board of Directors for Lexington Medical Center and a member of the Lexington Chamber of Commerce.
